Science teachers Kristen Chappell and Ali Simon meet once a week with their Ecology Club. The club takes care of recycling in the building and will spearhead projects both in school and outside of school for interested students. The students are collecting nuts as part of the “Get Nuts for Clean Water!” program through Growing Native. They gathered acorns that will eventually seed and grow into trees, helping to restore forests which absorb pollution and prevent soil runoff from entering the streams and rivers in the Potomac Watershed.
