Dr. Lance Clawson is a prominent Washington area child and adolescent psychiatrist. Dr. Clawson received his post-doctoral training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has published on such topics as mental health consultation in schools, working effectively with pediatricians and the mental health needs of homeless children. In 2003, Dr. Clawson testified before congress regarding issues surrounding the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. Dr. Clawson serves on the teaching faculty at both the University of Maryland and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Dr. Clawson highlighted and discussed the emotional and academic impact of ADHD on the child and his/her family, as well as the many comorbid psychiatric and neuropsychological issues that arise in children with ADHD.
He addressed how these accompanying conditions create complexity and challenge for the family as a whole.
