Lower School Student Council
The Lower School Student Council members visited the Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville, Maryland on Friday, November 9 to present the check from our Bake Sale Fundraiser. The sanctuary provides refuge to farm animals recovering from abuse and neglect. Even though the weather was dreary and a little wet, the group was given a tour and introduced to many of the animals. We got a chance to chuck whole pumpkins into the pigpen to give them a treat; and we got to meet several turkeys who will NOT be on the table for Thanksgiving! We are PROUD of our Student Council for organizing and running this first K-4 Community Service Project.
