Varsity Cross Country Sets the Pace

GO MUSTANGS!

The Varsity Cross Country Team had its first meet this year on September 11, 2007. They made a fine efforts accross the board. The team placed third against JDS and Field School (Queen Anne, who hosted the race, did not have enough runners to score as a team), but for the first race of the season, team performance as a whole was not our focus.

Freshman Nick S. led the Mustangs with a 7th place finish in 21:44. Less than 90 seconds later, Zach P. and Ben W. finished 12th and 14th respectively (23:10 and 23:31). Alex R. raced to 18th place in 24:01, followed very closely by Randy S. in 24:08. Chris T. rounded off the boys’ performances in 34th, with a time of 29:46. Emma E., our only female Mustang runner, completed the course in 21st place with a time of 36:13.

Not only did our runners start off on a positive note, they also have a great starting point for improvement over the rest of the season!
