Visualizing Literature

In this three week course, students will deepen their reading comprehension and understanding of pieces of literature through guided reading techniques. After reading, students will produce a work of art that is a visual representation of the work in study. The teachers will use short stories, poetry, and possible excerpts from novels or plays. Students will work with both a literature and an art teacher to produce the work. Techniques will focus on printmaking, painting and drawing. This course has a maximum of 8 students and is open to students entering grades 9-12.
